Hertz Launches Used Cars Marketplace

The Hertz Corporation has announced the launch of Hertz Dealer Direct, a program that provides used car dealers with a wholesale marketplace online so that they can purchase late-model cars from their rental fleet. The scheme will offer broader access to a wide selection of vehicles, as well as lower prices, which will result in purchases directly from the car hire company without transaction charges.

Hertz, which is the largest general use airport car hire brand in the world, created this remarketing program as a service to wholesale buyers and dealers. Their goal is to provide expedited access to their fleet and low prices.

Hertz Dealer Direct will let dealers shop cars currently on rent and ready for sale. They will also be able to choose from vehicles immediately available for wholesale purchase and pick-up. Benefits of the program include no success or transaction fees, attractive pricing, real-time access to Hertz’s inventory, well-conditioned cars, as well as expedited, electronic processing.

Hertz Corporation chairman and chief executive officer Mark P. Frissora says that the program is an integral part of their car sales strategy. It will provide car dealers with a real-time, ecommerce platform to buy cars directly from the company with financial benefits for both businesses, he added.

They have partnered with Advent Resources, a creator of high performance auto dealership technology, to develop the program. President Tim Gill says they are excited to have the chance to develop the platform in support of the Hertz Dealer Direct program, as well as to play a big role in such an innovative remarketing solution.
