Hertz has announced that it is appointing Holiday Holdings International its General Sales Agent, also known as GSA, in South Africa. This actually represents a big partnership for both companies and could turn out to be very profitable for both.
Hertz says this new partnership gives Holiday Holdings International the task of growing its outbound car hire reservations in South Africa. This includes growing its outbound car hires in places like Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland. In short, Holiday Holdings International will be increasing outbound car hires form these areas to any of Hertz’s 8,800 locations around the world.
In 2012, the United States was the top travel destination for customers of Hertz from South Africa. That being said, several European countries made the top 10. This includes such areas as Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain and even the UK.
The Group President for RAC International and the Hertz Corporation, Michael Taride, said that Hertz has helped people from all across the world enjoy their freedom for over 90 years. It has allowed people to experience life on the open road. South Africa is a very important emerging market for all international car hire companies, and Hertz is no different.
He went on to say that Hertz will be able to take an in-depth look at South Africa due to its wealth of experience. Holiday Holdings International is in a prime position to help Hertz become the number one car hire company in this area of Africa. This should help to increase its outbound growth in the long term to other key travel markets.
The CEO of Holiday Holdings International, Gavin Simpson, said that this account with Hertz is huge. This car hire company has done a very detailed evaluation of all of the options available for its GSA in this area of Africa. After it got done, it determined that Holiday Holdings International was its best bet, and that is a very good feeling.
Mr Simpson went on to say that Holiday Holdings International will keep collaborating with Hertz very closely. It wants to grow, not only Hertz’s outbound business, but its domestic service as well. Each of these companies will be able to coordinate their sales in order to maximize their partnership.
In order to honour this new partnership, Holiday Holdings International already set up a local reservation office for Hertz in Randburg. This should be able to help the company handle the increase in demand they expect to get for Hertz hires.
The main goal of this partnership, for Hertz, is to increase awareness of its products among travellers. It wants to use this knowledge to help boost outbound sales. In order to do this, it has to make relationships with companies that help do this, which includes Holiday Holdings International.
Right now, Hertz has a worldwide portfolio of outbound products customers can book via companies in the transport industry. In fact, hertz offers a fleet of over 500,000 cars. This is to ensure that it has cars for everyone who wishes to hire from it. Hertz also prides itself in offering the latest car models.
