Hertz Named Best Car Rental Agency

Hertz has been ranked the ‘Best Car Rental Agency’ for the thirteenth time in Travel + Leisure magazine’s seventeenth World’s Best Awards. The annual survey sees the magazine’s readers vote on the best car hire providers, cruise lines, preferred hotels, airlines, outfitters, islands and cities.

In the World’s Best Awards survey, readers were asked to rank car hire companies based on five categories – value, service, vehicle selection, availability and rental location. The ratings were then averaged to create an overall score, which Hertz topped. The rental provider has dominated the definitive list, earning the company a spot in the first ever World’s Best Awards Hall of Fame from Travel + Leisure. This honour symbolises a company earning top marks for over ten years.

Travel + Leisure also recently awarded Hertz a SMITTY award for ‘Best Social Media by a Car Rental Agency’. Hertz also took top awards at the first Flyer Talk awards – including Best Overall Benefits and Best Rewards Program in all regions. Zagat’s 2012/13 Car Rental Survey awarded the company with Best Overall Car Company and 14 other top category rankings as well.

Hertz Corporation chairman and chief executive Mark Frissora says they are proud of the consistent top performance Travel + Leisure’s readers have indicated. They are honoured to be named one of the first Hall of Fame groups by the magazine as well and pleased to have been chosen the top car hire agency 13 times. Travel + Leisure editor-in-chief Nancy Novogrod says that the opportunity to see which travel experiences are most memorable to their readers is delightful and intriguing to her, even after the survey has been done for 17 years. Although some passions are different from when the survey was first started, the allure of the new and exotic is still strong, along with the attraction to travel that provides long-lasting and distinctive memories.

Novogrod added that their readers want to experience the outdoors and adventure but still get great service. This is reflected in their selection of the top three resorts – which are all located in mountain towns of Colorado, USA. Aside from the usual awards, they have also introduced the World’s Best Awards Hall of Fame this year.
