Hertz Offers Electric Bicycle Hire in London

Ultra Motor Electric BicycleHertz has now become the first large car hire company to offer electric cycles for rent. This comes as the biggest general use car rental brand in the world introduces Ultra Motor electric bicycles in London, giving residents and travellers a new way to explore the capital.

There will be 12 of the A2B Hybrid 24 and Fast4ward Edge models available for daily hire from the Hertz Marble Arch location. The A2B Hybrid 24 model has a sensor that detects how much pedalling the user needs to do to give power to keep up the pace. The Fast4ward Edge is a folding cycle that gives the user the choice of pedalling or using throttle and cruise power. Depending on the weight of the rider and other luggage, the A2B Hybrid 24 offers up to 40 miles of battery, while the Fast4ward offers up to 25 miles. If they need to be recharged, the customers can plug them up to any mains socket.

The electric bicycles can also be parked with ease and locked to bike racks so travellers can use them as a way to get to landmarks around London or to explore parks in a unique and fun way. They are also great for people who don’t like to cycle due to strong headwinds or big hills – or simply want something different from the norm. These electric bicycles can get up to 15.5mph – faster than a traditional bike and walking around the capital. They will cost £20 a day to rent, and every customer will get full training, a lock, a helmet (optional) and a copy of the AA Leisure Guide to London that suggests bike rides throughout the city.

The addition of electric bicycles to Hertz’ offering complements the company’s Global EV eco-mobility program, which is topping the electric and plug-in hybrid car mobility ecosystem by incorporating transport options and charging stations so they are easy to use. Hertz International president Michel Taride says that the Ultra Motor electric bicycles are a fast, economical and green mode of transport no matter if a Londoner wants to find new places to shop or explore hidden treasures, or a tourist wants to see all the capital has to offer. Hertz is pleased to offer these cycles for a fun and easy way to explore the capital, as they are always committed to providing a range of mobility solutions, he added.

Ultra Motor UK managing director Mark Loveridge said that it’s exciting to offer the A2B Hybrid 24 and Fast4ward Edge to the general public in collaboration with Hertz, because this means that more people get the opportunity to experience the electric bicycles and enjoy a fun way to explore London. Travellers won’t need to worry about running out of pedal power, as the electric battery is going to be their best friend by helping them through strong headwinds and up steep hills, he added.
