Hertz Partners with Live Nation

Live Nation (top) & Hertz (bottom) LogosThe Hertz Corporation has announced Hertz “Movin’ with Music” with a groundbreaking, multi-year marketing alliance and sponsorship with Live Nation Entertainment. The partnership will allow the car hire operator to reach millions of live music fans and become the exclusive car rental partner for Live Nation in the US and Canada. However, Hertz is launching a three-pronged scheme that will also include the introduction of Hertz Live Radio streamed at its facilities and on its buses later next year, as well as the Hertz Music Store, which will allow Gold Plus Rewards members to use their reward points to buy music online.

Under the deal, Hertz rentals and Hertz NeverLost driving directions will be offered to the large audience of concert goers who purchase tickets online through LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com. This will enable the hire agency to reach over 26 million unique visitors on the websites every month. As the official car hire marketing partner for Live Nation, Hertz’s rentals and NeverLost navigation technology will be integrated into multiple areas of the Ticketmaster network.

Both groups will employ mobile phone and social media apps to introduce a range of fan resources, special offers and sweepstakes. Hertz will receive prominent on-site exposure at 75 entertainment venues owned by Live Nation and located in over 25 of the largest markets throughout the country, including Hertz VIP Parking at a certain amount of amphitheaters. Hertz Equipment Rental will also be the exclusive equipment provider for the entertainment company, supporting staging activities for many Live Nation concert productions.

Hertz chairman and chief executive Mark P. Frissora says that experiencing live music is a priceless passion for many consumers. By partnering with Live Nation, which is one of the biggest forces in the music industry and the owner of Ticketmaster, they will be able to directly engage with fans by becoming an integrated part of the live entertainment process while they book tickets, go to events and share their experiences.

Frissora went on to say that, by aligning Hertz close with live music and tapping into the multi-channel network offered by Live Nation, they are changing how they drive interaction among potential and existing customers. This is eCommerce and promotion at its best, providing consumers with enhanced value by delivering easy access to the company’s services and generating sales to their bottom line while building and defining brand affinity.

Live Nation Network president Russell Wallach says that this is a natural alliance that uses the power of live music and their integrated eCommerce and marketing platform to power Hertz, drive measurable results and increase customer engagement. Hertz will be able to expand its appeal across a range of passionate music fans. Live Nation will now use Hertz products and services to conduct business, which will strengthen the alliance’s economic value and increase exposure for Hertz.
