Hertz receives car rental award

It is the perfect way to enter a new year by the car rental giant, to win an award for Europe’s best car rental agent, and exactly the same award in the US as well to top it off. The hire car firm won the gongs at the German Business Traveller Awards earlier this month and is overjoyed to start off the new decade in such style. The awards are chosen by readers of their magazine and are on a variety of different travel related products from hotels, airlines and car rental agents.

As well these Hertz also won an award in the UK for fourth year in a row, the Buying Business Award was for best car rental company and is picked by a panel of judges who come from a similar background. A spokesman for Hertz said that all the awards are great to receive on their own merit from being picked by the general public for being the best, through to having their peers decide that they are the best in the business.

The start of this year is hopefully a sign of things to come for the car rental company after they picked up 16 awards last year in a variety of different categories. It was a turbulent year in the market for rental cars with many not performing as well as the previous year. A short supply compared to demand in peak season forced the average price up and many chose not to enjoy the luxury of a hire car. This year should see a better time in the market for both consumer and business.
