Hertz still top for Australian car rental

Hertz car rental has won a prestigious Australian travel industry award for the fourth year in a row. The popular car hire company has been named as the ‘Best car/campervan Rental Operator’ in the country’s National Travel Industry Awards.

The awards are designed to recognise the best suppliers and individuals in the travel industry in 2010. All categories are voted for by industry professionals, making them some of the most coveted accolades in the business.

It is the fourth time that Hertz has received the title of Australia’s best car rental provider, and region vice president and managing director for Hertz, Jacqueline Lehmann, said the company and its employees are over the moon. After their third consecutive win last year, Hertz gained a place in the Australian Federation of Travel Agents Hall of Fame.

Mrs Lehmann said that winning the award yet again showed their employees’ ongoing commitment to the travel industry and acts as a great endorsement of their product. She added that it is a great achievement by all involved to have built on the success of last year.

Despite the past year being one of the toughest ever for the travel industry, Hertz Austrailia have introduced a number of new innovations, including the ‘Fun Collection’ of Mini Coopers and the ‘Prestige Collection’ of Lexus and Mercedes vehicles.

Hertz operates from more than 8,200 locations across the world in 146 countries. It is the world’s largest airport general use rental brand and runs more than 200 rental depots in Australia alone.
