Hertz to provide transport for the stars of Wimbledon 2007
Posted on: May 22nd, 2007 by Martin FellowesFor the13th year running Hertz is the official transport provider for the stars of the 2007 Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships. Hertz will be transporting players and officials of the tournament to and from the venue using a fleet of 100 top of the range Ford Galaxies, 50 Ford Mondeos and 30 Ford Transit mini buses.
Hertz are using over three hundred specially trained drivers who are collectively expected to cover some 200,000 miles during the fortnight that the tennis tournament lasts.
Bill Jones, vice president of sales and marketing at Hertz, said, “The Wimbledon association is hugely important to Hertz and a fantastic association for our brand. The Championship has continued to fit well with our brand values, which is why we have continued the relationship over so many years.” This is undoubtedly true as the Wimbledon tournament is still regarded as the premier tennis event of the world. The Hertz brand will be on show to the thousands of people attending and through the media output of the event.
