Hertz is always trying its best to stay current and popular in the rental car industry. This time, it looks like Hertz is going to try to achieve that goal by redesigning its rental car locations across the world. The goal of this redesign is to make renting cars quicker and easier. One of the things that it hopes to include in each location now is a service called “Road Trip by Hertz.”
According to Hertz, its Road Trip by Hertz service will be an on-site station that allows travellers to access all the things that they might need before going on a trip. The station will prove to be helpful to both leisure and business travellers. However, this new service station is just the start of the changes that Hertz has in store for its consumers.
Hertz explains that its consumers will also be able to enjoy a concierge service. Hertz hopes that these kinds of services will completely streamline the renting process. The company also hopes that it might eliminate the need to ever have to wait in line again.
The Road Trip by Hertz service station will include a dock for consumer iPads. Here, consumers will be able to research local area information. They will also be able to recharge all of their mobile devices. Business travellers can actually use this station to print documents and gain access to FedEx services as well.
So far, these services have already been rolled out at Shanghai and San Diego airports. The plan is also to bring this service to London and Melboune in the coming months. From there, Hertz hopes that the service will prove to be popular enough to start expanding it to all locations across the world. To start with, this service will be offered at airport locations. However, Hertz hopes to have this service available at neighbourhood locations in the future.
Mark P. Frissora, the chief executive officer and current chairman of Hertz, said that his company prides itself on offering the lifestyle experience that travellers want before they head off on the open road. Hertz is consistently looking for new ways for its consumers to get a better experience every time they walk into a Hertz location. The goal right now is to offer the Road Trip by Hertz service at worldwide locations by the year 2015. The places that already have this service have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from consumers.
The real question for the industry is: How will other car rental giants respond to this service? If this service proves to be extremely popular with consumers, other car rental firms might choose to release similar services. They can also use Hertz as a learning experience and expand on what the company has already done. For the time being, however, Hertz is the only car rental firm that is offering such a service. Hertz asks that consumers continue to look forward to this brand new service as it is launched globally.
