Hertz UAE marks AED1 million in overseas reservations

Hertz UAE has just released a report showing that it has reached AED1 million in reservations for overseas rentals for both June and July, which is a doubling of May sales, and accounts for one-fourth of all overseas reservations for 2008 to date.
The increase of 100 per cent in sales for the months of June and July coincides with the peak travel season, with nearly 95 per cent of the bookings made for destinations in Europe. The UK, accounting for 40 per cent of the reservations, was the most popular, followed by Germany at 20 per cent, and then Switzerland at 15 per cent, and France and Austria at 10 per cent each.
Thirty per cent of the bookings were made by corporate customers, with the remaining 70 per cent of the by made individuals in advance of their overseas travel.
UAE residents can save from 20 to 30 per cent by booking with Hertz online in advance.
“Our biggest period for overseas reservations is between May and August, and we anticipate even greater sales results for this month. December and January is another busy overseas reservation season, when expatriates go home for the holidays,” said the head of the international reservations team for Hertz UAE, Roshan Mohamed.
