Hire car company drives deal for greener vehicles
Posted on: September 8th, 2009 by Martin FellowesThe car rental giant, Europcar, has made an important deal with the makers of Fiat cars that will see the hire car company lower their carbon footprint massively. The great new deal will open the doors for customers of Europcar to be able to lease cars such as the Fiat Brava and Punto or the more eco-friendly Fiat 500, which has been a hot talking point in green circles.
Fiat has always tried to produce environmentally friendly cars and the latest batch by the Italian giants is no exception. The super mini (Fiat 500), how it has been described, is worthy of being a super car in different ways. The super low £35 per year road tax bill shows just what the government thinks about the cost to the environment. As well as this Boris Johnson, Mayor of London also likes this car as he has waived the congestion charge for the drivers of them.
Europcar are no strangers to greener transportation, they were awarded the Green Charter for their sterling work into reducing the carbon footprint of their vehicles and the first in Europe to receive this award. They also give their customers online access to the amount of CO2 that each of their cars puts out, so customers can be made aware before hiring.
