ICTS to take charge of Bristol International Airport
Posted on: November 12th, 2009 by Peter HeadleyICTS has been brought in to handle the security at Bristol International Airport (BIA) from January 2010 onwards. The contract was highly sought after by various security companies already operating at many of the UK’s most famous airports but ICTS beat them all to take the sought after contract. The airport has recently been striving hard to make sure that passengers using the site have a good experience and there has been many improvements to the on-site facilities and services over the past 12 months.
ICTS are already based at the airport as they provide security for TUI (a company that operates under the First Choice and Thompson brands) and Continental Airlines as well as having a presence at well used airports around the rest f Europe most notable Charles de Gaulle in Paris and Frankfurt International Airport. They currently employ more than 10,000 people and further job opportunities will arise in January.
At Bristol International Airport (BIA) more than 150 staff members are employed to handle the security and they work within strict guidelines put in place by the Department of Transport. During the busiest times at the airport a total of seven security search areas are in place but when ICTS take over another five channels will be added. The new security steps are being brought in as more travellers are expected to use the airport over the next few years. In anticipation of the extra passenger traffic, security will tighten and further improvements will continue to be brought in.
