The £1 million Ferrari owned by singer Jay Kay was severely damaged after a scuffle in an upmarket seaside resort hotel.

According to police sources, the incident occurred in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, in the early morning hours.

The same police sources confirmed that they arrested a 21-year-old man, who is currently being held in custody.

The frontman for Jamiroquai, known for his love of fast cars, was not willing to discuss the alleged attack on the Ferrari.

According to local reports, the window on the driver’s side window and the windscreen of the black Ferrari Enzo were smashed, and pieces of glass covered the road surface outside the Brudenell Hotel, where the singer was staying.

A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said: “A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is in custody at Lowestoft police station.”

She added that the alleged incident occurred sometime between midnight and 2:20am and that the police were called at 2:30am.

The spokeswoman noted that the Ferrari Enzo sustained “substantial damage” to the front and driver’s side windows.

A local man, who had been drinking in the hotel before the incident, said the singer was there and had “a few drinks.”

“He said he had come to Aldeburgh to get some fish and chips,” added the man, who did not want to be identified.
