According to Jeremy Clarkson, Stig has been sacked form Top Gear. Apparently Ben Collins, who has played Stig for the past seven years, was let go after he unmasked himself. This move came after the BBC failed to win an injunction that would have prevented him from revealing his identify to the world.
Clarkson went on to say that he felt hurt and betrayed by Collins. He said that the whole thing was just horrible, because Ben use to come over to his house and have some drinks, but now it has all come down to this.
Mr Clarkson went on to say that he has spent the last three weeks or so doing nothing but trying to work out what on earth to do instead. He then went on to talk about Wall Street, the movie. He said, in that movie, Gordon Gekko said that greed is good, greed works. However, Jeremy says it does not. Greed is bad, and it destroys people.
Jeremy was also asked if he knew who was going to replace Stig. Although Jeremy could not give a name, he did say that there are many thousands of people lining up to do whatever it is they come up with next. He did note that he is too old to take over the spot. He then jokingly added that he would love the Prime Minister Cameron to do it. Jeremy said that he thinks the Prime Minister would be a great driver.
Of course it should not be hard for Ben Collins to find more work after being let go. Before Top Gear he was an American NASCAR and Formula 3 driver. He was also a stunt double for Daniel Craig.
