Judas Priest Guitarist to Launch Hotel

K.K. DowningMost people have heard of the band Judas Priest. Well, it now appears that the former guitarist for the band, Kenneth Downing, who is better known as K.K. Downing, has revealed plans to build a new multimillion dollar hotel and leisure complex. This is going to be made right on the grounds of his Shropshire, England estate.

For those that don’t know, his current estate is 320 acres. It is on this estate that he plans on building a huge 63-room hotel. It will include things like a swimming pool, spa, and even a top-class restaurant. All of this will just be an add-on for his golf course, which is already up and running.

This news comes just after K.K. Downing left Judas Priest back in April of last year. Thus, it is safe to say that he will not be taking part in the extensive tour that the band has since taken part in. Either way, he had been a member of the band since 1969.

Of course, K.K. Downing is placing a lot of hope into this hotel. He admitted that he has blown most of his “personal fortune” on this estate. He hopes that this top-class hotel will attract visitors from all over the world. This goes double for golfers.

He went on to say that he is in the middle of speaking to various corporations about investment. The next step will be putting together all the costs. Mr. Downing noted that he is already 60 years old, so he wants to get things completed as quickly as possible. That has always been his endgame.

Mr. Downing did point out that his investment is going to do something for the economy as well. He said that dozens of jobs will now be created as a result of the development. This should be welcome news for people who are still having trouble finding work.

During a recent interview, Downing talked about leaving Judas Priest. He said that it was a set of circumstances that led to him not going on tour with the band this year. Downing said that he was pumped up for it, but there was a multitude of other reasons that kept him from going. It pretty much all came down to an unsettlement on his part with working relationships. He then jokingly said that there are people out there that think it is hard to live with one woman their whole life. Well, they should try living with four guys and try holding it together.

Of course, the tour will go on without Downing. His place in the band has been filled by a new guitarist named Richie Faulkner. The band is planning on playing at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on May 26. People can still check online to find the availability of tickets to see the show.
