An amazing 160 small packages of cocaine were found on the person of a man by customs officials who thought he had an unusually big posterior.
Customs agents became suspicious when they watched the man walk funny and sit down in an awkward position. The 65-year-old German national Flew into Barcelona from a South American country when he was busted. A spokesman said that the man appeared to have the legs and bum of a body builder but elsewhere he looked normal.
A sniffer dog was brought close to the guy and made a positive signal to his handler. The man was immediately detained and searched where they found a specially made pair of shorts under his clothing that had 160 pockets all filled with tiny bundles of cocaine.
Officers at the airport seemed amused at this latest attempt to smuggle drugs. “We’ve seen all sorts of stunts but the big pants were a first for us,” said a spokesperson for the airport.
This is the latest in a series of unusual drug smuggling methods. Just earlier this week a man had stuffed 25kg of cocaine into 407 courgettes and attempted to fly to New York from the Dominican Republic when he was detained.
