Lohan attacked by GOP congressional staffer at W Hotel Union Square

W Hotel Union SquareA Republican Party staffer has been accused by Lindsay Lohan of assault at the five-star W Hotel Union Square in the early hours of Sunday morning. The starlet claims 25-year-old Christian LaBella harassed her after getting into a fight with her at the hotel. It’s claimed that he punched her after she demanded that photos of her be deleted from his mobile phone.

The altercation between Lohan, 26, and LaBella, who works for Illinois congressman John Shimkus, happened after the pair met at the popular 1OAK nightclub in Manhattan. She took him back to her hotel room on the 15th floor of the W Hotel Union Square, where several of her friends were. The argument between them is believed to have been over photos that he took of her while at the hotel.

Sources say Lohan saw the photos of herself on LaBella’s phone around 4:30am and confronted him about it. Then he threw her on the bed, resulting in scratches on her hands. It’s believed she ran from the room and then returned shortly after. At this point, she claims he choked her, threw her on the ground and got on top of her. A friend is said to have pulled him off, and then the actress pulled the fire alarm for help.

LaBella ran down the hotel’s stairs, but police arrived before he could get away and took him into custody. A report on the accused assault was filed, and he was initially charged that afternoon with harassment and assault. Later, law enforcement officials interviewed Lohan and LaBella, concluding that the accusations couldn’t be substantiated and saying the arrest would be voided. The assault charge was then dropped, and now LaBella has filed a harassment complaint against the actress.

Lohan says that LaBella took more than 50 pictures and videos of her before the altercation. Steve Honig, her publicist, said on Sunday that the actress was assaulted at a New York hotel in the early morning. She sustained some injuries but wasn’t taken to hospital. The attacker was arrested and is in police custody. Later, he said Lohan is fully cooperating in the investigation and has talked to police. He added that Lohan thinks the fact that LaBella wasn’t charged is outrageous and distressing. There needs to be consequence for her being assaulted.

Dina, the actress’s mother, says her daughter was shaken after the altercation. She’s thankful LaBella didn’t have a weapon, she added.

LaBella has connections with his employment as a staffer for Illinois Republican congressman John Shimkus. The congressman has confirmed that LaBella works for him but has condemned the accused assault. A spokesman says he doesn’t condone his employee’s actions. LaBella’s aunt is also comedian Heather McDonald. His uncle, Peter Jessop, believes Lohan is at fault and is using her celebrity status to launch a witch hunt against his nephew in a bid to become relevant again.

This incident follows Lohan being rushed to hospital less than a week ago for a bad lung infection. A case of walking pneumonia got worse, causing her to get medical attention. She was discharged shortly after receiving treatment and antibiotics and was said to be recovering.
