The new online service incorporates tens of thousands of reviews and recommendations written by over 360 authors working for Lonely Planet around the world. The range in accommodation is from backpacker hostels in Australia to boutique hotels in Switzerland. Travellers can read about the properties, make their choice, and then make their booking securely online through Expedia and Hostelworld.com.

They get trusted advice, great pricing and wide availability in one easy to use website” noted Troy Suda, global head of hotels and emerging online business for Lonely Planet.
In preparing to develop this service Lonely Planet searched for partners that would create a strong alignment between Lonely Planet author reviews and accommodation booking features.
“Lonely Planet has built its business on the quality of its author reviews and recommendations, and we’re delighted to be partnering with a company that is as renowned in its field as Expedia is,” said vice president and managing director of Expedia Distribution, Tamer Tamar
“Partnering with a company such as Lonely Planet further demonstrates Expedia Distribution’s white labelling expertise and commitment to broadening the base of partners we work with in the travel arena. We have developed a tailored offering for Lonely Planet that is perfectly in tune with its users’ needs and utilises our world class hotel product,” added Tamar.
