Outraged passengers have been complaining this week after they were left with no option but to sleep in Luton Airport. The situation arose at the beginning of the week as flights were cancelled amid worsening weather conditions. Monday morning saw up to 50 flights being cancelled which then had a domino affect all day long. Passengers said they were left with very little information on what was happening and the staff did not seem to care as the travellers started stretching out for the night in the airport terminal.

Much of the anger has come from how under prepared the passengers are saying the airport was for bad weather. Most were asking why a little bit of snow had caused so much disruption to so many flights. As they got as comfy as possible for the night, the lucky ones were the guys and girls who had managed to grab the benches and get off the cold floor. Most have said they did not get a good night’s sleep due to the amount of noise from screaming kids and moaning adults.

The winter conditions have raised that same question again about the trouble the UK has when we have a cold snap. If you look to most other countries in Europe and even across the globe that have the same type of weather as the Britain does, they do not suffer with half the problems we do. Motorists can simply not drive on icy roads because they are not gritted in time, airports shut down because runways cannot be cleared quickly enough and train services fail because there is snow on the lines. Whatever the reason behind the actions, it sure not to change in the near future.
