Manchester airport has come out in support of the world swimming Championships that are scheduled to take place at the MEN Arena in Manchester starting from the 9-13 April, 2008. The FINA world swimming championship event would attract over 800 of the best swimmers from around 130 different countries all over the world. All the swimmers would begin arriving at the Manchester airport soon.

James Hickman, the local boy and the five times winner of the world swimming championship is the head of the public relations Department for the event. He expressed his delight by stating that it was fantastic news that Manchester airport will be supporting the significant event. The swimmers from the Manchester University swimming club recently stripped down to their racing costumes to provide a trial run to the airport, to help them prepare for the biggest sporting event held in Manchester ever since the Commonwealth Games.
