MasterCard and Cambodian hotel team up for children

Once again the famous Hotel de la Paix in Cambodia and MasterCard have joined forces to raise money for poor children in the countryside. There aim yet again is to gain enough money to buy bikes for the children in villages and small communes outside of Siam Reap. This is to help some of them make it to schools that are just too far away to walk.

Until the end of this year if you book a hotel room at the hotel or spend on your MasterCard at the hotel there will be a donation. The Purchase with Purpose scheme is a great way to give some back to the community that your are visiting and help children get themselves to school and some chance of a proper education.

The same promotion in 2008 saw almost 400 bicycles be bought and donated to children in the area. This one bike will not just serve one but at to three children in a school year as they share the usage. As well as this it will be passed down to younger brothers and sisters so they to will benefit from the scheme.

The Hotel de la Paix in Siam Reap is no stranger to helping the community and has an active roll in helping the less fortunate people of Cambodia. It has an already established programme called Community Connections that helps families in any way they can from food tom clothing and assistance with home building. The latest join up with MasterCard hopes to break down boundaries and encourage awareness with tourism.
