It has been revealed six more Britons have had their passports cloned all linked in with murder of the Hamas official. They have also revealed that there are 15 new suspects that could have assassinated Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, bringing the total number of suspects up to 26. Out of these individuals, 12 of them entered Dubai, where the Hamas man was killed, using the cloned passports of real British citizens. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed that the details of the passports used were that of genuine UK residents, but the signature and photograph were not genuine.
The first six forged passports were belonging to people that resided in Israel and had dual citizenship, where the alleged suspects are thought to come from. If the new suspects are found to be Israeli or live in the Middle East country then the investigation will continue there with what the Serious and Organised Crime Squad, who are investigating the forged passports, cooperating with Israeli officials. The information that is coming from the Dubai Police continues to link the Israeli spy agency, Mossad. Despite this information, Israel are pleading ignorance to the incident.
Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was murdered in his hotel room on the 19th January and police there firmly believe it was Mossad that carried out the killing. They say they have evidence that shows that a number of agents visited the Arab state in November as they had received a tip-off that the Hamas man would be arriving in January. The new suspects include French, Irish and Australia and the latter’s government has summoned the Israeli ambassador to explain how forged documents have come out of Israel.
