More responsibility for car rental boss
Posted on: December 2nd, 2009 by Martin FellowesThe Senior Vice President for global sales at Hertz, Robert J Stuart, has just been given more responsibility within the company when they announced that he is to become director of their Connect by Hertz business. This is the car sharing sector of the firm that was launched in December 2008. It is the fastest growing part of the company with facilities in Paris, London, New York and host of universities across the US and UK.
Another move within Hertz will see Griff Long, who is the senior director for Connect in the US, will also take on the job of looking after operation in the European market and be reporting to Mr Stuart. Chairman and CEO of Hertz, Mark Frissora, said that the new responsibilities for the two will see them increase business in the three sectors of university, urban and corporate.
The aim is to increase membership in this fast growing sector of the car sharing market. Under the leadership of the two they hope to make the business grow using the Hertz sales team to produce more business and keep repeat custom coming. The future will be down to customer demand and how they want to use the service.
In the short time that Connect has been running they have managed to gain more than 10,000 members across the US and UK. They have 650 cars across the globe that are solely dedicated to car sharing and that number is set to increasing as their memberships rise.
