Enterprise Holdings has announced that its National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands have been franchised to Olecram SA. This is a leading transport provider based in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. The deal will bring the car hire brands to three locations in the country over the first year of the partnership. These locations include the Carrasco/General Cesáreo L. Berisso International Airport in the capital and the Capitán de Corbeta Carlos A. Curbelo International Airport and city centre of exclusive resort Punta del Este.
This new franchise agreement will allow both groups to meet consumers’ needs better. It also marks the first time that Enterprise Holdings has launched services in Uruguay, while it completes the company’s presence in the Southern Cone region of South America. Along with Uruguay, this region includes Paraguay, Argentina and Chile.
Enterprise Holdings vice president of global franchising Peter A. Smith says that this franchise agreement brings the convenience, dependability and affordability of the National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands to Uruguayan customers. They and Olecram SA share a strong focus on customer service, and they will work together to give travellers in South America more mobility options.
Olecram SA director Dr. Martin Grande said that the National and Alamo brands will provide leisure and business travellers in Uruguay with the services they have come to be familiar with and trust. They will work together to continue their commitment to quality and excellence.
This announcement follows Enterprise Holdings announcing in April that these same two brands would be serving Brazilian travellers for the first time through a franchise deal with Unidas, a leading car hire provider in São Paulo. Then just last month, the brands launched branches at five of the country’s airports – Galeao Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport in Rio de Janeiro; Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo; Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre; Tancredo Neves/Confins International Airport in Belo Horizonte; and Brasilia International Airport in Brasilia. By March of next year, the brands will have more than 100 city and airport branches throughout the country.
Greg Stubblefield, the executive vice president of global marketing, strategy and sales for Enterprise Holdings, said last month that they are happy to introduce the National and Alamo brands in Brazil with the launch of their first ever locations at five major airports. This partnership with Unidas, which shares their strong belief in customer services, expands the choices travellers will have. It also presents great growth opportunities for all the brands in Latin America.
Pedro de Almeida, the executive president of Unidas, added that they believe Brazilian leisure and business travellers will enjoy having these new options. They are committed to offering the great service their loyal customers have come to trust from all three brands.
Aside from the National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, Enterprise Holdings also operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand in North America, the UK, Ireland and Germany. Under a franchise network, National and Alamo operate in 23 countries around the world. As part of the group’s continued expansion, it took over French Citer SA and Spanish Atesa earlier this year.
