Avis has launched a new app at select locations in Australia which simplifies the whole process of car hire. Avis Now is available at Avis stations in Brisbane and Adelaide, but the long-term plan is to offer it nationwide.
As is the case with most modern apps, Avis Now provides the means for users to access all the services and functions via their smartphones. Avis Now enables car hirers to see all the details of forthcoming pickups on their phone screens.
The app gives hirers the means of upgrading their vehicles and extending the hire period. When returning vehicles, Avis Now offers one-touch check in which does away with the need to contact counter staff.
The app is designed to create itemised bills for the rental after return and will reduce hirers reliance on counter clerks as well as cut down the time needed to complete the formalities after returning vehicles. Avis Australia managing-director Kaye Ceille said Avis Now would streamline rentals processes.
She continued by saying the app had been designed to cater to customers’ stated needs and the finished item was a reflection of their wishes. She added that the app was personalised, easy to use and a time saver and provided the same convenience as apps from banks, retail outlets and other service providers.
Ms Ceille noted that after the app’s US launch, hirers were delighted with functions which gave real-time views of available vehicles and the option of swapping or upgrades. The US version of Avis Now has been tweaked so hirers can get the lights of their particular hire to flash and the doors to unlock.
