New Ferrari theme park to open in Abu Dhabi
Posted on: November 10th, 2009 by Samantha WilliamsThe famous Italian car makers have announced plans to build a gigantic theme park based around the famous brand name in Abu Dhabi. The theme park will be aptly named Ferrari World and it is running on course to be open sometime in 2010. Ferrari has said that it plans to offer every visitor to the park an ‘intense multi-sensory experience’ and it is taking advantage of its worldwide status to create a number of brand extensions.
At present there are 28 stores worldwide that carry the Ferrari name and there is also an official website that offers customers a variety of Ferrari merchandise including briefcases, watches, stationary, clothes and model cars. The roof of the theme park is set to be painted in a traditional red colour that is shaped like the side profile of the famous Ferrari GT body. The park will also span 200,000 square metres and it will boast the biggest Ferrari badge that has ever been made. There will be a host of shops and restaurants but it is yet unclear if there will be a hotel on site.
There will also be more than 20 attractions at the park that includes rides that are suitable for children and the fastest roller coaster in the world. Aldar Properties PJSC Farah Leisure Parks Management L.L.C is in charge of the running of the park. The new theme park was recently advertised during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix when its huge roof was obvious to many as the Formula One cars raced around the United Arab Emirate track.
