Summer driving holidays can be a time of relaxation and leisurely cruising, particularly when behind the wheel of a sumptuous sports car. The latest release from Mercedes Benz, the E-Class Cabriolet, offers an ideal summer vehicle – one that will turn corners as smoothly as it turns heads.
In a recent review in the Auto Express magazine, industry expert Andrew English writes that the new convertible now features the latest technology from the German manufacturer, AirCap. This custom designed air diversion system means that windy weather is no longer a bother to soft-top drivers.
The review also reported that even in the entry level model, the E220 CDI Cabriolet, possesses remarkable power in its diesel engine. The cabriolet, at 1.8 tonnes in weight, is perfectly suited to the diesel system, which provides sufficient power for smooth overtaking while offering the driver enough under the bonnet to satisfy the need for speed. Crucially, the money savings associated with the diesel engine are a huge benefit to motorists trying to watch their pennies. For those in the know, the Mercedes offers fuel efficiency to the tune of 52.3mpg and an emission level of just 143g/km of CO2.
