New vehicle rental company opens in Australia
Posted on: June 27th, 2008 by Andy SimpsonJucy, an established Australasian car hire firm, has now opened up its first locations in Australia. An anticipated 200 vehicles will serve the Australian market at first and as chief executive Taime Alpa indicated, the firm’s business policy will be based on a discount, low-cost model, which means that potential renters can expect to enjoy reduced rates. Additionally, Jucy’s arrival may also force down prices across the board, when it comes to car hires. “Jucy’s prices are among the lowest in the market. Unlike other operators we don’t hit our customers with a raft of add-ons and hidden charges and frankly don’t know how our competitors get away with it,” Alpa explained.
Jucy has built its reputation for offering a range of camper van rentals at some of the lowest prices. For example, camper vans are being offered for hire in Australia for only A$35 per day. If everything goes according to plan, the firm will offer 500 of these vehicles throughout Australia within less than a year.
This Australasian company opened its first car hire locations in New Zealand, back in 2001. In the initial period Jucy offered a very modest 35 cars for rent, but the firm has seen exponential growth in recent years and now has a total of 1,800 vehicles that clients may choose from. While Jucy is hardly the largest vehicle hire firm in New Zealand, it is certainly one of the most prominent, with Alpa going as far as to claim that it is now difficult to drive for 10 minutes in NZ without coming across at least one of these rentals.
