New Zealand Voted the World’s Best Country to Travel to in 2015

Bay of Islands, New ZealandLooking for the hottest tourist destination for 2015? Apparently, you can’t go wrong with New Zealand. In fact, you have not been able to go wrong with New Zealand for the past three years. For the third straight year in a row, New Zealand has been voted the best travel destination in the Telegraph Travel Awards.

Nearly 90,000 people voted in the poll to pick the best tourist destination, including people from countries all over the world. In the end, however, there was no country that was able to beat New Zealand. Known for its beautiful scenery, plentiful islands and golden beaches, New Zealand has everything that people want in a holiday destination.

The prime minster of New Zealand, John Key, said that the results of this poll are fantastic. Tourism is a very significant part of the New Zealand economy. They believe that the real strength for New Zealand is that it lives up to the hype that it gets. This is a place that is going to inspire everyone who visits. Way too often, people visit a destination and expect it to be amazing because of what a brochure said. Once they get there, they are let down. This is not something that New Zealand does.

The head of print for the Telegraph, Ben Ross, said that this is a place that many British travellers choose to visit on their long-haul holidays. One reason is because this is a place where the locals also speak their country’s native tongue. It thrusts visitors into amazing scenery around every turn as well. Who wouldn’t be amazed when they see the volcanoes of Tongariro National Park or the Milford Sound?

There are several places to visit once a traveller arrives in New Zealand. One is the small island of Arapawa, which is located in the Marlborough Sounds. This is one of the many places in New Zealand that is perfect for people who are looking for a true getaway and don’t want to be bothered by crowds. While visitors won’t find shops on this island, they will find the perfect atmosphere for mountain biking, fishing, hiking, sailing or whale watching.

There were many other countries that placed high on the list. The runners up included Maldives and South Africa. These are two countries that continue to place good year after year as well. Cape Town took home the honour of Best City.
