Online discounts offered for UK breaks with children

With the credit crunch making it harder for families to travel this year, and the weak pound making holidays on the continent more expensive, there are more reasons than ever for holidaymakers to stay in the UK and enjoy the hot and sunny weather predicted for this summer.

Simon and Karina Burns are one couple that decided to cut back on their holiday plans with their two young children this year. They plan to hire a cottage on the Devon coast for a week, rather than heading to the continent, which they usually do.

In addition to saving on the cost of foreign travel, the family, from Highcliffe, in Dorset, will also be on a self-catering holiday, spending less than if they were eating out.

Both Simon and Karina work for a company that organises arts and crafts exhibitions, and are fans of the “Let’s Go With The Children” book, which lists attractions, gardens and parks in England featuring free entry for children. The book also includes detailed information on other places of interest to children – offering discounts.

Letsgowiththechildren.co.uk makes it possible for families to search online for places to visit from the 90,000 attractions featured on the website. Castles, museums, parks and water parks are among the attractions listed. Families will find as many as 75 discount offers available. There are also competitions run offering prizes that include money-off days out and free tickets.

The “Let’s Go With The Children” book is available online for just £1.50, using the discount code MAILSUN09.
