Online UK luxury car hire operation thriving in recession
Posted on: February 20th, 2009 by Taylor SmithA Cardiff Bay-based online service which offers luxury cars and limousines for hire is expecting to double its turnover in 2009.
The online operator, called the Limo Broker Group, provides a service that is similar to price comparison websites, and offers access to the market across the UK to limousine hire firms.
Tej Randeva, the company’s founder and managing director, worked as a motor insurance broker before starting the company. In 2004, when researching the brokerage industry, he found that the limousine hire industry was growing in the UK, but the companies were all relying on local directories and advertising to source customers, rather than the Internet.
Randeva launched Limo Broker UK and started by contacting limousine hire companies located in South Wales and promoting their hire operators and luxury vehicles.
Since its beginnings a few years ago, it has grown to a company with £2.6 million in annual turnover, and is projected to double that figure this year.
The director is attributing his success to maximizing the use of online search engines, such as Google, to achieve top rankings when users search for limo hire.
