Pakistani Airplane Crashes Killing 152 People

It now seems that a passenger jet has just recently crashed into the hills that are overlooking Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad. Apparently this crash came during some poor weather on Wednesday. The crash killed all of the 152 people on board.

This has been reported as the worst plane crash in Pakistan history. Rescue workers battled fires and muddy conditions as they searched for any sign of survivors. The chairman of the Capital Development Authority, Imtiaz Elahi, said that the situation at the site of the crash is very heartbreaking. It is a great tragedy, and it has been confirmed that there are no survivors.

Among the dead were two United States citizens. However, the United States Embassy in Islamabad has not provided any further details on the people involved in the crash.

This crash has left metal wreckage hanging from trees and scattered all across the ground. Witnesses said that clouds of very dense gray smoke rose up from the wreckage as helicopters hovered above. One of the rescue workers, Dawar Adnan, said that he kept only seeing body parts. This is a very horrible scene. Workers have been scanning the whole area, but no one has been found alive.

As of right now, the cause of the crash is not immediately clear. However, the government does not suspect any kind of terrorism played a role in the crash. The plane apparently left the southern city of Karachi at 7:45am for a two hour Airblue flight to Islamabad. The plane was apparently trying to land during some rainy weather. Airblue is a private service based in Karachi. This Wednesday flight was believed to be carrying mostly Pakistanis.
