Porsche joins Avis car rental fleet

If you are heading to Germany soon, you might want to re-think that car hire you have chosen for your stay. Sure you can stay with it- the fancy cup holders and the free satellite navigations all sound good and the fact that the family can easily fit into the vehicle is an added bonus. However, Avis in Germany are just about to launch their latest model for hire, the Porsche Panamera.

Now sets this Porsche apart is that it is a family sedan. It has four doors, four luxurious seats to relax in and the engine is in the front of the car so the luggage still goes to the rear of the car. The Panamera was only just unveiled in April at the Shanghai Automobile Show, and Avis is one of the first companies to pick up the exclusive motor.

There are three production models, but Avis will have just the S and the 4S for hire, with prices starting from a very reasonable €189 per day and weekend hire for €567. Even though the car weighs almost two tones and is powered by a massive V8 engine block, Avis say that the car is fuel efficient, thanks to the new technology under the bonnet and its great aerodynamics.
