Last week, Princess Cruises announced that they will launch their biggest program ever in Canada and New England for summer sailings in 2011, including new itineraries and an extended season. The cruise line traditionally offers voyages to the region in the fall from New York.
Princess Cruises says that the expansion of the season will include their first summer sailings to this region. They announced that the Caribbean Princess is set to sail 4 voyages for 9 nights each to Canada and New England, departing New York, from May to July. These will alternate with 9-night sailings to the Eastern Caribbean and Bermuda.
The cruise liner will also offer 14 sailings to the region in the fall, which will have 2 different itineraries. The Caribbean Princess is set to sail round-trip voyages for a week at a time out of New York to the region, while the Crown Princess will sail one-way voyages at 10 nights each between Quebec City and New York. There will also be a single 12-night voyage from Quebec to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on the Crown Princess at the end of the season.
Princess Cruises executive vice president Jan Swartz said that the charm and natural beauty of New England and Canada has made these voyages so popular every fall that they are now extending their season to include summer. It’s their biggest season ever, with the widest range of departures so that passengers can find the perfect cruise to explore these scenic locations.
With these new sailings, Princess Cruises is boosting capacity by 30% in Canada and New England, with bookings opening on May 6. Fares for the 7-night voyages will start from $700 per person.
