Ryanair to launch new route

As of the 3rd of November Ryanair will be adding a new route to their already busy schedule of flights. The new addition will run from Edinburgh to Brussels, three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays on a flight that only takes 1 hour and 40 minutes. Passengers will land at the Brussels South Charleroi Airport from Scotland’s busy air hub in Edinburgh. The airline already boasts flights from Glasgow, Dublin and Shannon, as well as 45 other airports outside of the UK, to Brussels, which is the second most used airport in Belgium.

Brussels South Charleroi Airport is also known for its friendly staff and its accessibility. In 2009, the busy airport welcomed 1,160,225 passengers through its doors during the summer months, a figure that has risen by 42 per cent on 2008. The airports’ commercial director of aviation and communications for Brussels South Charleroi Airport has spoken of his delight at welcoming a new flight path from Edinburgh.

The airport is also only a short distance from many sights and attractions to explore. The centre of Brussels is just over 40kms from the airport and there are coaches that run every 30 minutes into the city centre as well as trains that also travel to the rest of the country. Ryanair are not the only aviation company enjoying expansion, as London Stansted Airport has also recently announced the addition of 10 new routes provided by six different airlines with extra flights to ski destinations in the winter as well as sunny destinations in the summer.
