Security tightened at all British Airports after Glasgow Attack
Posted on: July 4th, 2007 by Martin FellowesThe UK authorities have increased security at all the airports in the United Kingdom in response to the terrorist attack on the passenger terminal at Glasgow airport on the 1st July.
At Glasgow airport the dropping off and picking up of passengers is severely restricted at the front of the terminal. There are also serious delays reaching the airport by car as security searches of vehicles are being conducted. BAA has issued advice to passengers to use the short term car parking that is available nearby to reach the terminal. This parking is restricted at Glasgow however as two of these car parks remain closed. Passengers wishing to retrieve cars from the closed car parks can only do so on presentation of valid identification documents. Public transport is the recommended means of getting to and from the airport.
Glasgow’s main terminal is open and fully operational with all the check-in desks working normally. Most of the flights are also operating normally although there is some delay caused by a backlog of flights from Saturday.
All the UK airports’ passengers are experiencing the effects of increased security due to Saturday’s incident. Heathrow is operating normally but expect delays. The forecourt at Stansted has been closed completely to vehicles so dropping off is restricted to the nearby car parks. Gatwick airport is also restricting access for vehicles dropping off and picking up incoming passengers.
The official advice is that the airports are operating normally but expect restricted access for vehicles and slight delays for the extra security measures in place.

Well i have been lisntening these attacks news since last few years and until now the security officials are unable to solve the problem and still there are certain risks associated with the travel so the airline companies should ensure the security.
