Passengers flying aboard Singapore Airlines will soon get to enjoy a brand new in-flight entertainment system, regardless of which cabin they reserve a seat in. Travellers will now have access to larger screens than ever before, a set of popular PC applications and even a USB port at each seat, in order to allow passengers to enjoy their own favourite forms of entertainment. The new system, which is referred to as the eX2 has been included on Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A380 and Boeing B-777-300ER airplanes. Both of these aircraft are wide-bodied planes reserved for long-haul travel.
Singapore Airlines passengers will now get to enjoy an unparalleled number of entertainment options, including 180 television programs on each long-haul flight, up to 700 CD albums to listen to, a series of video games, audio books, and even a handful of interactive, educational programs. As an added advantage, the back of each seat is now equipped with a high resolution screen. Singapore Airlines noted that the goal behind this upgrade was to meet the in-flight entertainment needs of all age groups, including both children and adults. Additionally, the USB port means that businesspeople may also do work on the flight, as it gives them the opportunity to upload documents.
