Many single travellers that choose package holidays must get fed up with all the single occupancy supplements they see get added to their bills. One travel firm has thought of a way round this extra charge, the only catch is that you must share your room with a stranger. Grand European Tours will now promise to match single travellers or a traveller in an odd number group with someone of their own sex so that supplement charge can be eradicated from the cost. The tour company says that if they cannot find a room-sharer for the date or dates of accommodation sharing, they will not charge the extra rate.
The travel firm says they have been listening recently to the feedback they have had off their single travellers and the extra charge is the main gripe. In acting on this they believe they can not only save money for their customers, but could also provide a companion for travelling. People that are matched together will be as similar as possible in interests, age etc… It might only be for part of the trip, but could help out with the expense and ti maybe that the companion might have useful knowledge on the area that is been travelled to.
Travelling has slowed down in recent times mainly because of the recession that the world has had to deal with. Holidays and non-essential travel was put on hold as people struggled along with their everyday life. Now, as people are again returning to taking a holiday or a short break, it will be great news for all those single travellers in the UK looking for a much needed break at an affordable price.
