Sixt lists the top cars rented from US branches

Sixt Rent A Car LogoRecently on the official Sixt blog, the company came up with a list of the top 10 cars rented from them in the United States. They even went as far as to give a little explanation on why they believe that these cars are chosen over other brands.

Oddly enough the top 4 cars on the list are all made by Hyundai. The number one rented car from Sixt was the 2012 Hyundai Accent. Sixt believes that this car is chosen the most because it offers great safety features and great fuel economy. In turn, this keeps passengers safer while saving them money, which is the best of both worlds. The company admits that the Accent may not be the most fun car in the world to drive, but it gets the job done. That’s why it finds itself at the top of this list.

The second car on this list was the 2012 Hyundai Elantra. It is pretty apparent that this car makes it so high on the list because of all of the great features it comes with. Sixt said that the Elantra comes with traction control, a built-in navigation system, an emergency trunk release, and can sit up to five people while still getting good fuel economy.  In short, this is a very well-rounded car that has proven to be a consumer favourite.

Next on the list is the 2012 Hyundai Sonata. As with the other cars in the Hyundai line-up, this one gets a lot of positive feedback because of its high safety rating and interior features. This does include things like USB connectivity, satellite radio and even Bluetooth integration. It is features like this that make this car a popular choice for business travellers.

The last Hyundai to make the top five is the 2012 Tucson. This option has grown popular with people who are looking for a roomy SUV that is easy on petrol. Although the Tucson’s 2.4 litre engine does not offer the same amount of power as other SUVs, it offers superior driving manoeuvrability. In general, it is just a fun car to drive.

The other cars that made it onto the list are as follows: 2012 Toyota Corolla, 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, 2012 Ford Mustang Convertible, Chrysler Town and Country MPV, 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and 2012 Mercedes-Benz C250. It’s easy to see that there are a lot of great cars here and a lot of great cars that have been left out. Sixt believes that many factors go into a consumer’s decision when renting a car. For example, the Mercedes-Benz C250 may have been higher on the list, but it is more expensive to rent than the others.

Of course, the real question here is: Why does Sixt care what cars are rented the most? This kind of information is important to Sixt on a number of levels. However, the most important would be so they know which cars they need more of on their lots. They want to know which cars consumers think are a good deal for their money.

Sixt does, however, understand that what makes a “good” car for consumers is based on everyone’s individual needs. In general, people are looking for a car that gets great fuel efficiency and has a roomy interior. That being said, some consumers and companies are just looking for an affordable car in general. That is why Sixt continues to look for ways to increase its selection of cars. They hope to fit everyone’s needs.
