Sixt Rent-A-Car signs deal with Portuguese auto broker
Posted on: September 12th, 2007 by Dave AndersonThe Portuguese branch of Sixt Rent-A-Car has entered into a binding agreement with Algarve Rental, a car hire brokerage firm. According to the terms of this contract, customers of Algarve Rental will now enjoy a premium level of service from Sixt in a number of major centers in Portugal, such as Lisbon, Faro, Funchal Airport, as well as Porto. Customers booking through the brokerage firm can now expect to receive brand new rental vehicles provided by Sixt, at competitive prices. Over the course of the past several decades, Sixt has developed a reputation throughout much of Europe for having one of the youngest fleets of vehicles offered by any car hire firm. Moreover, customers can expect round-the-clock roadside and emergency assistance from the car hire company.
Sixt is among the oldest of car hire companies in the world. It was established in 1912, and has since then expanded throughout continental Europe and around the world. The company operates 3500 outlets worldwide and enjoys the distinction of being the largest car rental firm in a handful of countries, such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Algarve Rental was established seven years ago, in 2000, at the Faro Airport. From very humble beginnings, the auto brokerage firm expanded significantly, and now handles over 10,000 car hire transactions each year, not only in Portugal, but also in Spain. The agreement between Algarve and Sixt appears to be a natural match, since both companies have built their reputations on offering friendly, personalized and fast service to customers. The Portuguese branch of Sixt did not rule out the possibility of developing a much wider partnership agreement to include more countries in continental Europe.
