SkyEurope offers airfares for just seven pounds
Posted on: September 16th, 2008 by Hannah WestfieldSkyEurope the Bratislava-based East/Central European discount carrier, is clearly trying to catch the interest of prospective travellers during what promises to be an especially challenging winter season, due to high fuel prices and softening demand following widespread fears of a prolonged recession in the United Kingdom, continental Europe and the United States. Perhaps SkyEurope is trying to make prospective passengers feel lucky again, by launching its “lucky 7″ promotional campaign. This new deal allows travellers to book flights departing from Bratislava, Vienna or Prague for as little as £7 each way, and no more than £77 including all taxes and extra fees.
The “lucky 7″ campaign will remain in effect until March 2009, allowing passengers to start booking tickets for these heavily discounted prices for travel starting in November. The only fees that passengers may have to pay in addition to the maximum £77 rate are for checked bags. This deal may be especially advantageous for those travelling to or from the Republic of Ireland, as they will be able to purchase these same tickets for only €7, but no more than €77.
SkyEurope most likely realizes that it has major challenge on its hands this winter season, not just because of high fuel prices, but also thanks to the fact that the carrier is in stiff competition with Wizz Air, the larger Hungarian-Polish discount airline, which has added a number of new routes, bases and planes to its business.
