Speeding gets Lord Aleem a one year driving ban

lord AleemLuxury car hire firm boss Lord Aleem has been given a 12-month driving ban for speeding in one of his Rolls Royces. Magistrates at Warwick Combined Court banned the 22-year-old for speeding and driving without due care on the M40 last May.

The budding Instagram star, whose real name is Aleem Iqbal, was also ordered to pay a total of £181 in court costs, fines and victim surcharges. The defendant did not appear in court last week to answer the charges. The financial penalty is unlikely to make much of a dent in the fortune of a guy who co-runs a luxury car rental company with his father.

Among the Platinum Executive Travel fleet are the Rolls Royce Wraith, the Dawn and the Phantom Drophead plus super cars like the Ferrari 458 Spider. Lord Aleem has gained a certain online notoriety by plugging the hire fleet on social media.

The self-described petrolhead has also courted controversy over the past year with a widely publicised confrontation with police and a horror smash he was lucky to walk away from. In June last year, Aleem was forced into issuing a humiliating public apology to police officers who had stopped him for a routine check.

Aleem was filmed while asking why the officers were looking at him and then said his shoes had cost more they earned from their salaries. In December, he said the fact he was wearing a seatbelt saved his life when he was rammed by a hit-and-run driver.
