Stewardess snaps fat man on airplane

A picture has been circling the internet recently of a very large man sitting on an aisle seat of a plane. It clearly shows that one seat is not big enough for him and the unnamed stewardess who took the photo said she did so to highlight to her bosses the need for obese people to have to pay or be given two seats. The picture clearly shows the larger gentleman sticking out into the aisle, which causes an obstruction. In addition another man sitting next to him is staring at the obese fellow obviously wondering if it is a candid camera prank.

The picture has again ignited the ‘should they, shouldn’t they’ debate over whether obese people be forced into buying two seats when they wish to fly. The picture is first thought to have appeared on Flightglobal.com after blogger Kieran Daly uploaded the picture with his article. Many of the comments after the story seemed to sympathise with the larger flyer, but also note that it was a health and safety issue aboard a plane.

The picture is thought to have been taken on a American Airlines jet before take-off. American Airlines said that are aware of the picture that is on the internet but cannot confirm if it was aboard one of their planes. They said they will conduct an investigation into the picture to see if was taken aboard their aircraft and will deal with the problem. The airline’s first priority is always the health and safety of their passengers and crew.
