Student protest Radio failure claims thrown out

Police have rejected claims that a communication breakdown was the cause of Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall ending up in the midst of the recent student protests.

While it has been widely reported that police that were guarding the couple were tuned into a different radio frequency than those policing the London protests, the authoritative Scotland Yard has insisted that the two teams could establish contact and might have used other modes of communication such as mobile phones and e-mail.

On the orders of the government, a major inquiry has been launched into widespread student disorder of the past few weeks. As was reported around the world, a car that The prince and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall were in had paint thrown all over it as a window was smashed during the height of tuition fee protests, which took place on Thursday. The couple were making their way to a theatre show in central London.

In a statement today, a police spokesman said that the route on Regent Street was checked moments before the attacks and was judged to be safe. After newspaper claims that the police teams were not in contact with one another, the Labour government’s Ex-home secretary, Mr Alan Johnson expressed that he was amazed by the revelation, especially given the fact that protection officers were always so fussy whenever they protected him. In retaliation however, former London Met firearms officer Mr Roger Gray told how it might actually be more confusing if officers actually shared the exact same radio frequency as the risk of interrupting one another would be heightened.
