Supermodel strikes back at British Airways
Posted on: April 17th, 2008 by Hannah WestfieldSupermodel Naomi Campbell, has lashed out at British Airways, several weeks after the United Kingdom’s flag carrier permanently banned the celebrity from ever stepping foot aboard a BA plane, after allegedly making a scene prior to departing on a flight. Campbell spoke to the media earlier today for the first time about the situation and pledged never to fly with BA again, since the airline demonstrates a “complete disrespect for passengers.” Campbell claims that “someone” from the airline called her a few days ago in order to convince her to keep flying with the carrier. The supermodel told a newspaper in Brazil that she does not plan to fly with BA anytime soon, since the airline has apparently failed to find her lost luggage and because of the disrespectful treatment she allegedly endured. When speaking with the Brazilian journalist, Campbell claimed to “speak for all those who have been disrespected” by British Airways.
Campbell’s statement about having been asked to return to British Airways caused some to raise their eyebrows, since the media had reported widely that the supermodel had been banned in perpetuity from flying with the UK’s flag carrier. The airline, however, did nothing to clarify the situation. After the most recent interview appeared earlier this week, BA simply noted that it “had not confirmed or denied that any passenger has been banned.”
On April 3rd, 2008, Campell was escorted off a BA flight in handcuffs by policeman after causing a scene over lost luggage problems. Campbell reportedly spat at an officer and was promptly arrested.
