Taxi share for Virgin Passengers
Posted on: November 13th, 2009 by Martin FellowesAlways at the forefront of new initiatives, Virgin Atlantic have only this week worked in conjunction with a new website to launch a taxi share scheme to their customers. The Taxi2 website offers the chance for passengers to meet up online before they travel and decide if they would like to share a taxi at their destination airport. This taxi share will benefit both the passengers as they will not have to pay all of the fare and also the carbon emissions will be less harmful to the public as there will only be one taxi.
The whole process is quite easy all you have to do is log on to the website and enter your flight details, which do not have to be with Virgin Atlantic, the date you are travelling and the address of where you want to travel to in the taxi. The computer will then match you with a suitable person to share the cost of a taxi. Extra requests can be made like passengers who wish only to travel with people of the same sex. This service is sure to take off as more people are looking at cost saving when they are travelling.
“We are always looking at ways to help improve our passengers journeys and this is a simple initiative which helps them to connect in a clever way. We expect this scheme to be popular with our passengers,” said the director for product services at Virgin Atlantic.
