It is not every day that rowdy passengers turn out to be top television executives, but 40 year old Randi Goldklank may just serve as a notable exception. Goldklank, NBC affiliate WHDH-TV’s general manager, has admitted that she engaged in “disorderly conduct” at Boston’s Logan Airport and on a Delta flight, which ultimately led to her arrest by local authorities. Goldklank made a brief appearance in a Boston court earlier today where she accepted the charges brought up against her and then swiftly resigned from her top television post.

Goldklank caused a scene aboard Delta Air Lines flight this past April, after which police detained her upon the plane’s arrival at Logan Airport. According to a Suffolk County police report, the former television executive smelled very strongly of alcohol when she was removed from the flight and had allegedly consumed “about three dozen drinks.” Delta flight attendants noted that Goldklank was barely able to walk and “had to be held upright.” Goldklank also showed some signs of violence, as she “attempted to break free,” according to the police report. The Suffolk report also suggests that Goldklank then proceeded to hit a police officer, while screaming: “I’m a big shot in Boston and I’ll have your (expletive) jobs. …you just watch and see what (expletive) happens when I get out of here.”

The former television executive originally argued that the reason she got into a frenzy was because a male passenger sitting next to her on the flight had apparently touched her in an inappropriate manner. Goldklank, however, has since issued an apology to police for her unruly behaviour. Additionally, she also sent a similar letter to Delta Air Lines. Goldklank has been placed on probation until 2009.
