Terminal 5 opens BA business class check in

British Airways announced the opening this week of Heathrow Airport Terminal 5’s dedicated check-in area for business class passengers.

The new check-in area, which opened on Wednesday, is found in Zone H at the very end of Terminal 5, and adjacent to the BA first-class check-in area.

BA passengers who check in online in the 24 hours prior to their flight’s departure are allowed to proceed to the dedicated check-in area to complete the process at self-service kiosks and drop off luggage.

Terminal 5’s customer experience manager, Paul Nickson, noted that the new terminal has now handled over seven million passengers.

He said: “We’re looking forward to moving a further 30 long-haul flights into the terminal on 17 September. This increased capacity means that even more business class customers are flying through Terminal 5 so it’s a good time to introduce the dedicated zone.”

In a separate announcement earlier this week, T-Mobile revealed that it is teaming up with the airport operator to turn Terminal 5 into the UK’s largest Wi-Fi hotspot. This will mean that travellers will have ready access to the Internet through their laptops, mobile phones and other wireless devices.
