Loading ...It has been announced that the Red Funnel Ferry Group is to upgrade its booking system with technology supplied by Hogia Ferry Systems. The new system will replace the three existing systems for roll-on roll-off ferries, fast ferries and accommodation. The new system called ‘Bookit’ will provide integration and simplification of the booking process.
Red Funnel’s fleet of three roll-on, roll-off ferries ferries sail between Southampton and East Cowes and a fleet of four hi-speed passenger catamarans operate between Southampton and West Cowes. Both these services operate all the year year-round.
This company is an expanding provider of ferry services between Southampton and the Isle of Wight. It also provides holidays on the Isle of Wight. They carry more than three million passengers per year and operate thousands of sailings between the two locations. Commuters, business users and freight operators all use the Red Funnel services.
Red Funnel assessed several systems before deciding on ‘Bookit’. Hogia Ferry Systems won the contract because ‘Bookit’ provides a well tested and proven system already in use with over fifty other ferry operators. ‘Bookit’ presented the ideal solution as it enables booking and ticket production for all types of accommodation, events, ferry travel, insurance and even car hire.
