There are few shows right now that are more popular than “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” Thorpe Park in Surrey is looking to cash in on the success of this show by launching its own attraction. The goal of this new attraction is to bring the TV show to life and give guests at the park a chance to experience the “jungle.”
The attraction is actually a maze developed in partnership with ITV Studios. People who enter the maze will be greeted by a recorded message from Dec and Ant from the TV show. They will also be hit with rain-forest-temperature mist and a number of other goodies.
According to the park, there are multi-sensor ticklers that will simulate the feeling of bugs and other things brushing against the heads and toes of guests as they move along walls and trees. The maze will also put guests up against water jets and a wind machine with gusts of up to 56 mph. Some guests will even come face to face with a “slippery, slimy surprise.”
When it comes time to chow down on some grub, guests can stop by the new Bush BBQ restaurant, which opens on March 12. There are many different dishes to try, including some “critter” sauces. Maybe the family would like to try critter coleslaw or worm mayo.
Mike Vallis, the director of Thorpe Park, said that after nearly 13 years of watching the TV show, he is happy to see what is happening on the screen come to life. It is the perfect chance for guests to brave some of the trials that people are put up against in the show. The best part is that guests aren’t required to eat the less palatable parts of kangaroos.
For those who have not been to Thorpe Park in awhile, this is the perfect time to grab a car rental and head back. It is adding new attractions all the time to keep guests coming back for more. Thorpe Park has something for everyone in the family and is a great place to spend a holiday.
